Babies | # | Uncategorized — call2arms @ 1:44 am

Lately I’ve been thinking about having babies. Not the act of giving birth because I try not to think about a baby streching my body in various ways, then ripping a path through to exit.

I think about the onesies I want to buy for my child, and how me and my hubby will go to the park, and church and family events with our little bundle.

I imagine the baby blowing its warm breath on my face and pulling my ear and hair and gripping my cheek. I envision its toothless grin and its even breaths as it falls asleep in my arms. I’m even looking forward to being slobbered on.

I look forward to the baby pulling itself up and making those baby noises as it bangs its hand on the table in joy at its accomplishment.

I haven’t given much thought to the countless diapers, and baby burps smelling of sour milk. Nor the yelling. I’m hoping for a happy, friendly warm, chubby baby, that goes to strangers without crying and looks at them and laughs. I don’t want any standoffish or shy babies. My guy says that all depends on us, and how the baby see’s us interact with people.

I want my baby to be bohemian like its mommy and go without shoes or socks. I want baby A to wear diapers and a t-shirt each day. But my guy says the baby will need clothes.

The guy and I have agreed to time pre-babies. Plus we gotta move here before the chil’ren arrive. Life in a nice black enclave.

Is there anyone else who gets more excited about the neighborhood than the house? The houses there are well built and charming but I’m more interested in the cute, nice area.

  1. People often think of the baby stuff (i.e. clothes, decorating the nursery, etc.) but their minds don’t usually let them think of the countless nights of little to no sleep, the breasts that keep leaking, the bottle sterilization, and let’s not even broach the toddler phase.. Sorry, to be so “realistic,” but motherhood has many more joys than we can describe here, but it’s also hard work. Enjoy! And one last thought, I think the toughest period for me as a mother yet was POTTY TRAINING. I vowed that once it was over, I was never changing another diaper EVER… I’ve even forgotten how.. :)

I’ve been reading articles about potty training at 6months. I will be attempting it.

  2. hehe sounds like you’re getting married soon. As for the stretching upon exit, my girl swears by a c-section said it was the best decision she made after deciding to have a baby with her husband.

My guy promises me that I will need a C-section for his big head babies. Being cut also frightens me. Maybe I need to consider a surrogate.

  3. Maybe I’ll enlighten you (all) one day and share my THREE c-section stories. Where was the “C-tuck” when I needed it? It’s murder getting the weight off, but it’s do-able and I’m living proof that the possibilities are endless.

So, you gonna kick the baby “Mac” to the side for a real life cooing model;).

My guys mom needed 3 c-sections (one for each son), which is why he is positive, I’ll be getting one too.

  4. @Edwige-I did the whole c-section thing and it was the best. They tell you the recovery time will be longer, but mine wasn’t. I was up and about in no time. If I have another child, I want the same thing. And the scar is so small, you wouldn’t even notice it.

  8. Girl, I thought you were hardcore!! Go on and squeeze those big headed bambinos out…without making any noise like Katie Holmes! Then say, “Take that, you barren broads!!” :-)

    Never been that hard. LOL.

  9. Um..(raising hand and waving it). I say go with the c-section. I had a 10 pound baby the first time I gave birth, and required many many stitches in the vaginal walls from the forceps and a blood transfusion! Do it the safe way!

IMHO, the way the baby sees ya’ll react will have no/little bearing on how they behave. I believe that nature beats nurture when it comes to how much a baby cries, or how much attention/activity they require. I had one that was completely off the hook, a freakin handful for the first 3yrs, and the next one was content and happy to chill. THere is no tellin!

  10. 78.5% black??? I will be your next door neighbor, although I’m ascured that CA is going to fall into the ocean. Like you I have been thinking about babies lately. Don’t tell no one. So me, hubby, and baby could be neighbors in about 5 years!!! What’s your time line.
    Holla!

I’m trying to keep a boat handy for the slide. We’d have fun as neighbors. Our baby plans are within 3 years, the chil’ren could go to the park together.

  11. Push the baby out!!!!

There’s nothing like that feeling… I pushed both of my baby’s out. The only difference now is, I can’t get with a man unless he’s well endowed.

    ~wink~

I know 4 women who are pregnant RIGHT NOW!!!

    ROTFLOL thinking totally carnal thoughts.
