I won’t label myself as a Beyonce fan, but I like her talent. I admire her hard work, I acknowledge her looks helped her career. I’m watching Beyonce Revealed on VH1 and heard her mention the song she wrote for Charlie’s Angels.
I am troubled that she takes credit for “Independent Women” the song. Didn’t she steal the entire idea, plus some lyrics from Amil, Jay Z’s old girl? Remember when Amil did the duet with Beyonce? I liked the song & the video. I thought it was cute.
Perhaps Beyonce wrote her own lyrics for “I Got That.” but the only difference in the song is Amil says “I Got That”, Destiny Child says, “I got it” or do they say “I bought it”?
In Amil’s “I Got That” Beyonce says:
I got that
The house that you live in
I got that
The bed that you sleep in
I got that
The benz that you’re driving
I got that, I got that
I got that
The ice that you’re wearing
I got that
So why you complaining
I got that
Who you gaming?
I got that, I got that
I got that
If you recall Independent Women lyrics its pretty much the same song.

Beyonce is hell bent on convincing people she is a songwriter even though she isn’t.She knows songwriters are respected, so naturally she want in on that.

Hmmm…I’m actually one of the few people that actually likes Bey. No, I don’t think she’s the brightest crayon in the box but she’s got star quality, she stays humble and knows how to keep her personal life private. That’s all I need from my celebrities (lol).
As far as her songwriting abilities, I don’t know. Never listened to Amil so I can’t weigh in on it, but if she stole it from Amil that’s foul.
I like her too. I’m a fan of Brandy because I’d buy whatever album she released even if it was garbage. I’m not a fan of Beyonce because I wouldn’t buy her or a Destiny Child album unless I loved at least 4 songs.

I have to admit, I like Beyonce too. I didn’t realize that the words to the songs were pretty much the same, but others do it too they even sell the same beats to different artist…anyway I love her song Strangely In Love and you gotta admit the girl got legs LOL

I am being SO off task at work today, but anyway I was delving through a message board’s archives and ran into this Beyonce Takes Credit For ‘Writing’ Songs. Apparently in hip hop, writing doesn’t mean actually “writing”. It means getting the license from an actual writer. Who knew?
Wow, I knew Amerie and J. Lo’s song sounded a lot like crazy in love. I had forgotten they had the same producer. I was think Amerie’s people were copying. Turns out someone just keeps selling the same tracks.

C2A,
That was me that just posted. I added a link about Beyonce not writing her songs, so you’ll have to approve it for it to post.
