Serenity tagged a sistah. Eight random things should be easy. Eight bloggers willing to do a Meme, that might be difficult.
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog. HERE GOES!
1. I’ve never liked socks. The only time I wear them is when I’m skating or skiing.
2. I love being near bodies of water but if I’m swimming I prefer a swimming pool to the ocean.
3. I’m not a fan of most chains- whether it is a store, restaurant or hotel. I love boutique hotels, stores and unique or individual dining establishiments.
4. I’ve always wanted to live in L.A. I wasn’t trying to be famous- I preferred the sun and warmth, and being here inspired me. This seems to be a more expensive place to live and here I am around so many lives of luxury and it inspires me, makes me creative and increases my desire to acheive and stretch towards my full potential. I don’t want the easy road, give me the one with a challenge.
5. I have to make an effort not to wear green everyday. I have to make effort to not buy everything in green.
6. I believe I can do it all, create a t.v. show, own a hotel/bed and breakfast, restaurant, publish a magazine, be a businesswoman and I’m still working on my book “A Newlywed’s Guide to A One Income Life in the City- Thriving not just Surviving.” Or something like that.
7. I have yet to go to Vegas. We’re a 3 to 4 hour drive away but I just can’t get enthused enough to go. I used to think of it as nothing but gambling, church, Circus Circus and heat. Then suddenly it became a destination and I hear they have pretty good all you can eat buffets and shows worthy to be seen.
8. I became an entreprenuer at age 7, my grandfather would bring all sorts of paper home from work. I would give it a pretty cover and bind the paper and sell them as books/calendars/albums, anything. I’d sell my grandmothers old perfume bottles or pixie sticks. I had a candy store from ages 11- to 20. I’d go to Ferrari’s Wholesale every week and buy my goods. I made a killing on Sour Powers. I bought them for 2 cents each and sold them in my store for 5c (my mother forced me to maintain artificially low prices in the store) at school for 10 cents and once the kids at school got addicted, I raised the price to 15 cents. When the candy stores finally discovered sour powers I lowered my price, and gave incentives for orders of certain amounts. I used to have duffle bags heavy with cash but I was never a spender. In Jr. High, I’d give the kids an order form, get their money and deliver their bags the next morning. I was tired of the store by 20 and after throwing a few fits my mother told my sister to take it. My next businesses were from 23- 26. At 26 I took a mini-retirement, and worked at a less directed pace. I’d been in business and/or focused on school 15 years at that point, I was tired. I regained my entreprenurial spirit at 30. I am now 31 and loving it again.
Tag- Heartdrops, Beloved when she is back from Hiatus

I feel you on the socks.
Interesting about being an entrepreneur. I sometimes thought I had in me, but dealing with people is just too much for me.

I just googled Chumash. That’s a good idea. I prefer the coast over the desert.
